Once upon a time in a faraway Bloggiverse there lived a maiden named Queen Mimi Pencil Skirt. She slayed her own dragons, stoked her own fire and well.....wrote memes by the light of the Bloggingham moon. One day a kind blogger from England noticed her meme lovin' ways and royally crowned her Mimi Queen of Memes. As time passed in the peaceful kingdom of Bloggingham, her Royal Highness found comfort in the company of fellow bloggers who also loved memes. But the Queen had a wicked disposition too. It is widely reported in historical Blogosphere archives that any and all bloggers found guilty of not completing their memes were promptly thrown into the dreaded Bloggingham dungeon.
If I were you, I'd do the meme.

The Queen's Meme-Mission Impossible

The Mission Impossible Meme
Lift off!

1. You are a guest on the space shuttle. You just arrived on the moon and realize you forgot something back home that you can't live without. What is it and how do you convince them to go back and fetch it?
i think that i would tell them i have pms and need my midol and stayfree because there was no way that there was enough of anything on board that would provide enough protection as i b***d like a stuck pig!! (which would be a lie of course as i had all the tissue paper taken out of the box several yearsago) you know it would work too because no man wants to even imagine that mess much less clean it up-everything is weightless in space, ya know-actually, i had to come back on here and change my mind, i'll just tell them that i am late playing the queens meme and if i don't get it filled out, i'll end up in the dungeon, hahahahaha, that'll stop them dead in there tracks cause they know that they will end up there too as accessories after the fact!! they don't wanna be chained up on to the walls and wind up as skeletons!!!! muwahahahah!!!!

2. Pretend you are a teacher in a rough public school for one day. You have been assigned to teach Manners 101. You have the "challenging bad butt kids" class (remember this is a pretend school and anyway I can't say ass on my blog 'cause it's so unQueenly and I might get fined or something).
They are jumping up and down, cursing, and throwing things at you.
What is the first thing you would write on the board? the one that correctly guesses my name. gets the personal phone number of kim kardashian or orlando bloom (they'll never guess it because it's rumplestiltskin)

3. Someone in your family or a friend has started a blog. They think it is anonymous but you have figured it out. They are saying derogatory things about you. Do you tell them or do you read it for awhile?
How would you handle it?
i think i would read it a while, and after i got enough ammo, it print it all off, confront them, and cut them out of my will, which of course, has bequeathed them millions. out, out, damned spot

4. If you had one dollar left in your pocket, what would you spend it on? the mello yello i will be drinking as i kick my relative off into the moat at my castle

5. President Obama and the First Lady are coming over for dinner. What do you serve? pinto beans, fried potatoes, turnip greens w/vinegar, and cornbread. and buttermilk to wash it all down with.

6. You walk in on your lover. They are trying on your clothes. What do you do? so THAT'S why everythings too big. i thought my diet was working.

7. Every astronaut must have shots! Choose your vaccination: You only get one and you can't enjoy any of the attributes of the other choices. You choose either: (1) The fountain of eternal youth and sexual vigor but only for 10 years (2) perfect health for a lifetime (3) eternal mind-numbing nirvana and peace of mind (4) unlimited hedonism for one year with no negative consequences. perfect health for a life-time because after kicking my relative into the moat, my legs are killing me. it was the same one that i caught trying on my clothes and since he stretched out all my clothes, you know his butt has to be HUGE

This is your mission should you choose to accept it. And remember, don't end up in the dungeon.

my kitties and the parakeet

my daughter works at our local PetCareWarehouse and i recently asked her if they might be able to get in a canary for me. my grandmother had canaries and i loved to hear them sing, and i have wanted one for years. the manager said that she could, so i told them whenever i got completely moved, then i would get one.
samantha calls me up friday and says "mom, guess what i got you? a bird". i told her i thought that i had said to wait until i got moved, and she said that a customer had brought one in, just wanting to get rid of it, and it had EVERYTHING with it: cage, seed, treats, toys, etc., and it was free, so she got it for me. here is a picture of it:does that look like a canary? samantha was just thrilled that she had gotten such a wonderful bird for me and free to boot! *sigh*
jonah got an overnight pass, so i was taking him to nc to the house we're moving to, and samantha called while we were on our way up there. she had come by the house to get bryar's bed and wanted to know where i was. when i told her, she then informed me that she hadn't known i wasn't going to come back to the apartment and she had brought the bird and left her on my dining room table. with 2 cats in the house. one weighing about 10-12 lbs, and the other about 5 months old and ALL over the place. i said if i had a dead bird when i got home i was gonna be mad.
"well, i set it in the middle of the table, i think she'll be ok"
fortunately for her, it was.
i sat birdie's cage in the floor so that she could enjoy the sunlight today. here is my big cat, sebastian, checking out the menu.i took a break from packing and laid down in the floor so that i could be close by if either cat decided to attend culinary school with it. my 5 month old girl, ezme (rhymes with pez me, after edward's mother in the movie twilight-my daughter's picking, not mine) had to lay down with mommy.stupid cat.

guess you can tell just how the sweet little thing has me wrapped! i have never had a cat that tried to literally sleep ON me. she has a habit of getting just as close to me as possible, which would be okay, but she has a very loud purr. and she want to sleep on my head. in my ear. or on my neck. one night this past week, she woke me up trying to creep up on my eye. damn cat.

Make Your Own Non-Toxic Cleaning Kit

MOTHER EARTH WATCH

Some of the worst toxic pollutants can be found right in the family home. 12 out of 14 popular air freshener products contain a toxic chemical called phthalates known to be harmful to the health of humans. (see http://www.manataka.org/page1650.html) Many other toxic substances that can be absorbed through the skin, breathed or ingested are found in many top name cleaning products. Manataka encourages you to 'Clean up Your Act', go green and give your family and the Earth Mother a breath of fresh air.

Make Your Own Non-Toxic Cleaning Kit

By Annie B. Bond, author of “Clean & Green,” (Ceres Press, 1990).

Most modern synthetic cleaning products are based on age-old formulas using natural ingredients that were passed down through the generations because the chemistry was right. Going back to the original naturally-derived ingredients is a way to make cleaning products that work, don’t pollute, and save you money. Most ingredients are found in your kitchen cupboards. Mix and match with well-chosen and environmentally-friendly green cleaning products found in health food stores, and you can easily and simply transform your home into a nontoxic and healthy haven.

Nontoxic cleaning can give you a deep feeling of gratification in knowing that your family's health is protected, and that your home is a place for your bodies to rest and recuperate rather than promote harm.

The Simple Solution: Making your own nontoxic cleaning kit will take you no time at all with these simple, straightforward directions, and with this kit you will be supplied with enough cleaning product for months of cleaning.

As an added bonus, ounce for ounce homemade cleaning formulas cost about one-tenth the price of their commercial counterparts -- and that includes costly, but worthwhile essential oils and concentrated, all-purpose detergents for homemade recipes.

SUPPLIES
baking soda
washing soda
white distilled vinegar
a good liquid soap or detergent
tea tree oil
6 clean spray bottles
2 glass jars

Read more about these 5 basic cleaning ingredients, and a vinegar update..

MAKE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS
Note: Make sure to label all your homemade cleaning products, and keep them away from pets and children.

CREAMY SOFT SCRUBBER
Simply pour about 1/2 cup of baking soda into a bowl, and add enough liquid detergent to make a texture like frosting. Scoop the mixture onto a sponge, and wash the surface. This is the perfect recipe for cleaning the bathtub because it rinses easily and doesn’t leave grit.

Note: Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin to the mixture and store in a sealed glass jar, to keep the product moist. Otherwise just make as much as you need at a time.

WINDOW CLEANER
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon liquid detergent
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 cups water
spray bottle

Put all the ingredients into a spray bottle, shake it up a bit, and use as you would a commercial brand. The soap in this recipe is important. It cuts the wax residue from the commercial brands you might have used in the past.

OVEN CLEANER
1 cup or more baking soda
water
a squirt or two of liquid detergent

Sprinkle water generously over the bottom of the oven, then cover the grime with enough baking soda that the surface it totally white. Sprinkle some more water over the top. Let the mixture set overnight. You can easily wipe up the grease the next morning because the grime will have loosened. When you have cleaned up the worst of the mess, dab a bit of liquid detergent or soap on a sponge, and wash the remaining residue from the oven. If this recipe doesn’t work for you it is probably because you didn’t use enough baking soda and/or water.

ALL-PURPOSE SPRAY CLEANER
1/2 tsp. washing soda
a dab of liquid soap
2 cups hot tap water
Combine the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake until the washing soda has dissolved. Apply and wipe off with a sponge or rag.

FURNITURE POLISH
1/2 teaspoon oil, such as olive (or jojoba, a liquid wax)
1/4 cup vinegar or fresh lemon juice
Mix the ingredients in a glass jar. Dab a soft rag into the solution and wipe onto wood surfaces. Cover the glass jar and store indefinitely.

VINEGAR DEODORIZER
Keep a clean spray bottle filled with straight 5 percent vinegar in your kitchen near your cutting board, and in your bathroom, and use them for cleaning. I often spray the vinegar on our cutting board before going to bed at night, and don't even rinse, but let it set overnight. The smell of vinegar dissipates within a few hours. Straight vinegar is also great for cleaning the toilet rim. Just spray it on and wipe off.

MOLD KILLERS
Tea Tree Treasure
Nothing natural works for mold and mildew as well as this spray. I've used it successfully on a moldy ceiling from a leaking roof, on a musty bureau, a musty rug, and a moldy shower curtain. Tea tree oil is expensive, but a little goes a very long way. Note that the smell of tea tree oil is very strong, but it will dissipate in a few days.

2 teaspoons tea tree oil
2 cups water
Combine in a spray bottle, shake to blend, and spray on problem areas. Do not rinse.
Makes 2 cups
Preparation Time: Under a minute
Shelf Life: Indefinite
Storage: Leave in the spray bottle

* Vinegar Spray
Straight vinegar reportedly kills 82 percent of mold. Pour some white distilled vinegar straight into a spray bottle, spray on the moldy area, and let set without rinsing if you can put up with the smell. It will dissipate in a few hours.

Grace like rain falls down around us

The Lord is so good, and has provided us with such a wonderful place to live.

Joel and I had several appointments this past Saturday to check out some houses for rent. We wanted up in the high country of North Carolina as it is simply beautiful country. The first house we looked out was in Elk Park, NC, and it was the only one that we looked at. One the way up there, we both felt such excitement...it felt like we were on our way home.
There were sooo many weeping willow trees-which i love-the town is small, with small stores, churches, winding roads, Joel had the same feelings I did as he drove "Honey, I'm falling in love already just with the drive out here!"

This is what we drove up on. My feeling was "WOW". It never fails to amaze me that there are people that believe there is no God. You can look at the creation and know that there was intelligent design. I believe with all my heart that God spoke it into existence.

I love to cook, rather i love to bake, which is evident with all the kitchen gadgets I have, and continue to buy on a regular basis. I love my apartment, but the kitchen is not exactly conductive to creativity! Look at this--->>>
You could set my kitchen is this at least four times!! The cabinet space is UNREAL! and layed out so efficiently. I will even be able to separate my baking items from the hot foods. This is important to me, as I have a good starter collection of flours: all-purpose, self-rising, bread, high gluten, almond, amaranth, rye, whole wheat, flax seed just to name a few. There is so much counter space, so I can roll out my bagel and doughnut dough!! My husband is all about the doughnuts.

Here is the front room-a fire place with a blower on it! There is even wood outside from the last resident, so it is dried and ready to go for this winter. With the altitude being so high, I'm sure we will welcome the leftovers as it get very chilly up there.

I will post more tomorrow, as I have a written final and practical in my baking class in the morning. I'm off to study now.
